AZ Nikolaas - ICT infrastructure - Domain migration

AZ Nikolaas was created from a fusion of AZ Waasland and AZ Maria Middelares and counts 822 beds spread over 4 campuses in Sint-Niklaas, Temse, Hamme and Beveren.

hict was asked to carry out the migration of the old Windows domain of the former AZ Waasland to the new IT domain within AZ Nikolaas.

The final objective is to make the entire IT environment of the merged hospital function with the same technical and operational standards, defined by the IT department of AZ Nikolaas.

Approach

• Guidance of the organisation during the change process with attention for the clear definition of the scope so that it comes up to the expectations of AZ Nikolaas. 
• Project Management approach with, besides guarding the timing and budget, lots of attention for Risk Management. 
• The solution is migration of the infrastructure with the intention of keeping the impact on the organisation as low as possible, when it comes to both the operational functioning of the hospital and the load for the IT department. 

 Result

• more transparant use of the ICT infrastructure; 
• more efficient and easier network to manage, central management; 
• step towards an IT environment in two hospitals that functions under the same technical and operational standards.
