The executive board asked hict to perform an audit at the department Medical Imaging. This audit didn't concern financial parameters, but:
- processes
- patient and staff satisfaction
- internal collaboration
- general organisation
- appointment policy
- organisational structure
- role of the radiologists at the department
- etc.
Approach
Phased approach based on the kwadrant (EFQM) model:
- Phase 1: problem definition for all stakeholders of the department by means of perception and performance standards collected by:
- observations
- structured interviews
- measurements
- data analysis
- surveys
- Phase 2: prioritising of the identified problems;
- Phase 3:
- deepening the problems in an audit trail using different methods (registrations, profile analyses, data analyses, study groups, ...);
- definining and starting improvement paths.
Result
- objectification and prioritisation of all problems with/at the the department Medical Imaging;
- definition and objectification of the causes of priority issues;
- definition and implementation of recommendations.
