The executive board asked hict to perform an audit at the department Medical Imaging. This audit didn't concern financial parameters, but:

• role of the radiologists at the department

Approach

Phased approach based on the kwadrant (EFQM) model:

• Phase 1: problem definition for all stakeholders of the department by means of perception and performance standards collected by:
  • observations
  • structured interviews
  • measurements
  • data analysis
  • surveys
• Phase 2: prioritising of the identified problems;
• Phase 3:
  • deepening the problems in an audit trail using different methods (registrations, profile analyses, data analyses, study groups, ...);
  • definining and starting improvement paths.

Result

• objectification and prioritisation of all problems with/at the the department Medical Imaging;
• definition and objectification of the causes of priority issues;
• definition and implementation of recommendations.
