Since 2007 all the activities are centralised at one campus, with still an outpatient's clinic in Poperinge.
Description | business case
hict was asked to perform an assessment of the internal organisation of the pharmacy and of the distribution to the operating wing by:
- mapping the current way of working;
- identifying the bottlenecks;
- proposing posible improvement paths.
Approach
hict interviewed different primary stakeholders and mapped the current and desired way of working. Through a data analysis (ABC analysis, stock management) the current architectonic classification of the pharmacy as well as the process-oriented improvement possibilities inside the pharmacy and the distribution to the operating wing were analysed.
Result
A detailed step-by-step plan with a savings potential for staff and resources (stock) and a proposition to optimise the current pharmacy processes and the distribution to the operating wing. hict elaborated these improvement paths in the hospital.
