RHMS – Analysis and evaluations IT applications

R.H.M.S (Réseau Hospitalier de Médecine Sociale) is a hospital network in the province of Hainaut with 755 beds broken down into three hospitals: Clinique Louis Caty de Baudour, l'Hôpital de la Madeleine in Ath and Clinique de Beloeil.

RHMS asked hict to carry out a project with the following requests:

• mapping of the functioanlities and technical aspects of the clinical workstation; 
• desription of the collaboration with an external IT company with mutual conditions; 
• outline of the possibilities of both packages and estimation of the value of the applications. 

In a second project hict was asked to evaluate a package for the calculation of the fees for physicians.

Approach

This project was carried out through interviews with the developer of the packages and with the principal users.

Result

• mapping of the functionalities and technical aspects of the clinical workstation, as central information point (administrative and clinical);
• description of the possible collaboration with an external IT company with mutual conditions. At the same time the value of the application was determined and the possibilities (advantages - disadvantages) to use this system in other hospitals were mapped. 
• clear outline on the possibilities of both packages and estimation of the value of the applications. 
• evaluation of the package for the calculation of the fees of the physicians and estimation of the value of this application.
