Hospital Gelderse Vallei – Analysis based on LEAN methodology KCHL

Hospital Gelderse Vallei in Ede is a large general hospital with the Christian tradition as foundation with more than 600 acknowledged beds. The KHCL (Klinisch Chemisch Hematologisch Laboratorium - Clinical Chemical Haematological Laboratory) of the Hospital Gelderse Vallei has one central lab with three locations for blood collection, of which one collection lab in the hospital itself.

Hospital Gelderse Vallei asked hict to carry out an analysis with regard to the KCHL in order to improve the work system and corresponding work processes and this all to increase the customer orientation, the productivity and the efficiency of the KCHL of the Hospital Gelderse Vallei te verhogen. This project was aimed towards both the practice and the special analyses originating from clinical and polyclinical requests.
